Practitioners in need of advanced knowledge for safeguarding practice eg registered/unregistered practitioners with assessing/planning/intervening/evaluating role.

To raise awareness of the National Referral Mechanism (NRM) and how children and young people can be vulnerable to exploitation, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.

This course is suitable for Group B practitioners who have a particular responsibility for the people they work with and therefore require a higher level of knowledge than those in Group A. Group B practitioners work with people who may or may not have safeguarding concerns, but do not participate in protection planning or sit on core groups and are not expected to give safeguarding advice to others. Group B practitioners will be aware of their responsibility to report concerns and there will be a clear line of reporting they are expected to follow.

This one-day course aims to enable delegates to consider the application of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 in relation to cases of self-neglect through Safeguarding Adults procedures.

This is a session on issues of internet safety and protecting children and young people from abuse online including the impact on teenage brain development and mental health, an overview of the law in Wales and how to access help and support.

This training aims to help professionals increase their knowledge of the Signs and Indicators of CSA, at the same time build confidence around use of the CSA Signs and Indicator template tool*, developing skills and techniques in recording and communicating concerns within professional arenas and with children, young people and families.

This course is suitable for Designated Safeguarding Person/s (DSP’s) and those who take a more prominent role in safeguarding decisions within their own setting, including those with an active role in protection planning activities.

A session on understanding expected developmental healthy behaviours and inappropriate behaviour, how they can cause sexual harm or increase a child’s vulnerability, and effective ways of engaging children and young people to speak about possible abuse or harmful sexual behaviour.
