Aim:
Raise awareness on how to recognise signs and indicators of exploitation, and how to respond in the most focused and effective way to keep adults safe.
Training Objectives: - By the end of this session, participants will be able to: –
- Define vulnerable adults, its different forms and links to exploitation
- Develop an understanding of the grooming process involved in adult exploitation, ‘mate crime’ & ‘cuckooing’ and how they differ
- Explain who is likely to be targeted and what tactics are often used
- Discuss the impact of exploitation – immediate, short and long term
- Understand your roles and responsibilities in preventing, identifying, reducing and disrupting exploitation.
- Be aware of local support services and how to sign post.
Target Audience: All multi agency practitioners (registered/regulated or not) including volunteer roles, who have regular contact with adults, children and members of the public in their roles
