Sexual abuse occurs across a range of contexts and can result in children and young people experiencing debilitating levels of trauma, which can have both an immediate and long-lasting impact.
This training will highlight these areas and take a child’s rights based approach to CSA assessment and intervention across a range of contexts.
This course is designed to meet the needs of different professionals working with this group of children. The purpose is to support colleagues by enhancing their understanding of engagement, assessment and recovery of CSA across all of its domains and equip them to identify and provide proportionate responses to meet the child’s needs in a family, online and community context.
A range of theoretical perspectives will be outlined to provide a comprehensive approach to the complex issues experienced by children and families impacted by CSA across all of its domains.
This course aims to help professionals develop skills and techniques in assessing and working directly with children, young people and families within the area of child sexual abuse.
This course will use case studies, exercises and discussion to help professionals to reflect on their practice as well as build confidence when working with children and young people where there are sexual concerns.
