Course Description
This course provides an introduction to safeguarding for all those who work with children and/or adults, whether in paid employment or as a volunteer. This is an intermediary course for those requiring a fundamental knowledge of safeguarding (more than basic awareness).
Learning Outcomes
Following this online session it is hoped participants will be able to:
- Describe different types of abuse
- Describe what ‘safeguarding’ means
- Identify a range of safeguarding issues/concerns
- Describe what signs and symptoms to look out for
- Recognize who might be affected by abuse and neglect
- Describe the Duty to Report, and when action may be required
- Demonstrate what to do and who to contact if you have a concern
Target Audience
All staff working within an organization, staff who come into contact with children, young people and / or adults, whether in paid employment or as a volunteer. This is an intermediary course for those requiring a fundamental knowledge of safeguarding (more than basic awareness).
