This Disclosure Workshop is designed to strengthen practitioners’ understanding of how disclosure checks contribute to safe and effective recruitment practices within an organisation. The session will provide clarity on the different types of DBS checks, when they should be used, and how eligibility is determined. Participants will explore key concepts such as regulated activity and the benefits of the DBS Update Service, supported by practical examples to inform confident decision‑making.

Aim:
To enable staff to identify appropriate DBS checks and apply eligibility criteria accurately.

Target Audience:
Staff responsible for carrying out or coordinating DBS checks for new or existing employees within an organisation.

Learning Outcomes

Following attendance at this workshop, participants will:
