Local Safeguarding Networks

Local Safeguarding Network Meetings

These meetings are held every two months. They are chaired by the safeguarding lead from each local authority area. The Purpose of these meetings is to bring together the safeguarding leads and managers responsible for safeguarding from each agency to share information and keep in touch about any good practice, innovative projects or concerns about work relating to safeguarding. Managers are asked to make sure that any news or shared information is taken back to their own organisation to be shared.

Local Safeguarding Network Practitioner Forums – (LSNPFs)

These are half day events, held every six months usually in May and November at a venue which is convenient for each local authority area. The purpose of the events is to allow practitioners and volunteers who cover that particular local area to have an opportunity to network with colleagues whilst being given information on a variety of topics relating to safeguarding. The events are intended to cover children, adults and the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (VAWDASV) agendas and there is usually a central theme. The information shared is in the form of presentations and workshop sessions which allow lots of multi-agency information to be shared at one event. The events are publicised via individual agencies and also on the safeguarding website.
