Safeguarding Children

Safeguarding children relates to the protection of children, who are in need of care and support, from abuse or neglect and the prevention of any risk of abuse, neglect or other kinds of harm. Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people is 'everybody’s business.’ This means being safe with those with whom they live and who support and care for them, as well as being safe in environments outside the home where they may live, travel, play, learn, work or undertake sport.
